Indian players have raised the prestige of the country in the whole world with their brilliant and historic performance in the Asian Para Games 2026. In this great competition, the Indian team has secured fourth place in the medal table by winning a total of 103 medals. A total of 27 gold, 33 silver and 43 bronze medals came to India’s account. With this brilliant performance, India has equaled its record of 27 gold medals won in the previous edition. In the medal table, China stood first with 354 medals, Japan stood second with 154 medals and Uzbekistan stood third with 127 medals.

Mona Aggarwal created history in shooting, broke the world record

During the Asian Para Games, Indian shooter Mona Agarwal registered her name in the pages of history by winning gold in the women’s 10 meter air rifle standing SH1 event. Mona performed brilliantly and scored 357.5 points, surpassing Sweden’s Anna Benson’s previous world record of 356 points. In this exciting event, China’s Cuiping Zhang won the silver medal with 353.7 points, while South Korea’s Myong Kim won the bronze medal. India’s star shooter Avani Lekhara finished fourth with 333.2 points. With this record-breaking performance of Mona, India’s tally of gold medals reached 27.

India’s mixed team missed the bronze medal in para archery

On one hand, while the country’s players added icing on the cake in many events, India’s recurve mixed team had to face disappointment by a narrow margin in para archery. The Indian pair of Harvinder Singh and Bhavana Chaudhary had to face a very close defeat against Iran in the bronze medal match. After the scores of both the teams remained equal after the scheduled sets, the match reached a thrilling shootoff, where the Iranian pair won and won the bronze medal. The Indian pair tried to make a great comeback till the end, but they missed out on a podium finish.
