Delhi: Former leg spinner of the Indian cricket team, Amit Mishra has made a big revelation about the last phase of his international career. Referring to the conversation he had with former captain Virat Kohli, he said that even after recovering from injury and being completely fit, he did not get a chance to return to Team India. Amit Mishra gave many memorable performances in his career, but the ODI series against New Zealand in 2016 was special for him. He took a total of 15 wickets in this five-match series. He was chosen Player of the Series for his excellent bowling.

In the series decider played in Visakhapatnam on 29 October 2016, Amit Mishra bowled brilliantly and took five wickets for just 18 runs. India defeated New Zealand by 190 runs in this match and won the series 3-2. Mishra also received the Player of the Match award for this performance.

Was waiting to get reply from Virat Kohli

According to Mishra, Virat Kohli was captaining the Indian team at the time of the injury. He told that after recovering from the injury, he worked hard on fitness and completed his rehabilitation. After this he contacted Kohli because he was hopeful of his comeback.

Mishra claimed that Kohli had told him that he would respond within a week, but despite waiting for one to three weeks, he did not receive any call. Even after contacting him again, he did not get any clear answer.

Amit Mishra told that after waiting continuously, he realized that perhaps his return to the Indian team is not possible now. After this he stopped contacting Virat.
