Sarfaraz Khan once again showed why he remains one of domestic cricket ’s most reliable century-makers, bouncing back from a rare failure with an unbeaten hundred for Mumbai on Monday. After scoring just one in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy opener against Chandigarh at the Wankhede Stadium, the 28-year-old responded in style on Monday, hitting his 18th first-class century to put Mumbai in command against Himachal Pradesh at the Luhnu Cricket Ground in Bilaspur.

Sarfaraz remained unbeaten on 139 off 213 balls, with 18 fours, as Mumbai reached 398/4 on Day Two of their Group D clash, taking their lead to 258 runs.
Overlooked for both India’s Test squad and the India A team for the New Zealand tour, Sarfaraz once again underlined his credentials as a prolific domestic run-scorer. His first-class average stood at 62.92 going into the match.
