Speaking to news agency ANI in New Delhi, Chetan Sharma said, 'I know the public wants to see fours and sixes, but please pay some attention to the bowlers also. I agree that bowlers are ready to spend runs on the field, but do not hit them so much that they do not want to come to the field again.
He also said that healthy competition between batsmen and bowlers is very important in cricket. For this, such pitches will have to be prepared, which will also give the bowlers an opportunity to show their skills.
This comment of Chetan Sharma has come amidst the continuous big scores in the ongoing T20 series between India and West Indies. In the second T20 played in Ranchi, India scored 249 runs, but West Indies achieved the target. In this match, the bowlers of both the teams had to spend a lot of runs.

Giving the example of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Chetan Sharma said that just as in domestic cricket, attention is paid to preparing pitches helpful for bowlers and batsmen, the same balance should be there in international cricket also.
According to him, the real beauty of cricket comes out only when the batsmen have to work hard to score runs and the bowlers have opportunities to take wickets. This also keeps the thrill of competition going.
