Indian Team Young gun bowler Arshdeep Singh has made his mark by making a splash in the T20 World Cup 2024. In this big ICC tournament, he took 17 wickets in 8 matches, which was the joint highest number of wickets. After Arshdeep's amazing performance, he may soon get a chance to make his Test debut.

Yes, the Indian team selectors are considering including Arshdeep Singh in the Test squad and he can be included in the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in the month of November this year.

According to media reports, a BCCI source has revealed this. He said, 'Arshdeep has performed impressively in the white ball format for India. He may be asked to play some red ball matches of the Duleep Trophy starting on September 5 to increase his chances of selection for the Australia tour. There is every possibility that he can prove to be a trump card for India along with Jasprit Bumrah in Australia.'

Not only this, according to media reports, sources have also revealed that the Indian selectors want to include at least one left-arm bowler in the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This is the reason why left-arm fast bowler Khalil Ahmed was also selected in the squad for the recent Zimbabwe tour.

Overall, it is becoming clear that if Arshdeep Singh is able to show his talent with the red ball by playing in the Duleep Trophy, then it is almost certain that he will play the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia and make his Test debut. Also know that the young gun bowler has played 6 ODIs and 52 T20 matches for India.
