Jaipur: Voting for the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) elections concluded here on Tuesday under the shadow of a Supreme Court directive halting the announcement of results. The apex court's stay came following petitions challenging the complete exclusion of women from the electoral rolls and a legal dispute over the inclusion of three newly formed districts in the voter list. Out of a total of 38 eligible voters, 35 cast their votes while three new districts, Didwana-Kuchaman, Khairthal-Tijara and Balotra, voluntarily refrained from polling. Following the court order, the ballot boxes were sealed and deposited in the collectorate treasury without counting, extending the state body’s long history of delayed election outcomes.

The polling day was also marked by sharp exchanges between the two presidential post candidates, with Dhananjay Singh Khimsar raising questions over ‘unauthorized presence’ inside the venue and Brij Kishore Upadhyay dismissing the charges while expressing full confidence in his victory.
