With no official statement from the franchise, Hemang Badani is reportedly set to remain head coach of the Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2027 season.
However, several rumours suggest he may leave the franchise, and Ganguly could take over as head coach.
Ganguly served as the President of the BCCI. Due to the conflict-of-interest regulations, he had to step away from active IPL franchise duties during this phase. After that, he returned to franchise cricket as he was appointed as the director of Cricket for JSW Sports.
An official announcement from the franchise regarding the 2027 coaching structure is still awaited.
Badani will now oversee Delhi Capitals’ preparations for IPL 2027 as the franchise begins shaping its squad and cricketing strategy for the new season.
With continuity in the head-coach position, attention will now turn towards the DC IPL 2027 squad, including player retentions, auction plans and the team’s leadership group.
The new season will also bring a fresh chapter for the franchise, including the DC IPL 2027 jersey and its latest design. The team’s preparations will also include its commercial partnerships, with the DC IPL 2027 sponsors list covering the franchise’s key sponsors.

DC Head Coach For IPL 2027
With no official statement on a change in the leadership role released, Hemang Badani will continue his head coach duties for the IPL 2027 season. He was appointed by the franchise ahead of the 2025 season.
Badani has worked with Brian Lara at Sunrisers Hyderabad, which will be his first assignment as head coach of the IPL team.
The former Tamil Nadu-based cricketer played four Tests and 40 ODIs between 2001 and 2004 and also scored an ODI century against Australia during the 2001 bilateral series.
Meanwhile, there are several reports suggesting that Sourav Ganguly is set to take over as head coach for the upcoming season.
He also oversaw cricket operations for Delhi Capitals in IPL and WPL and the Pretoria Capitals. He was the head coach of Pretoria Capitals for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
IPL 2027 DC Batting Coach
Ian Bell was the batting coach of the Delhi Capitals during the 2026 season, but is very unlikely to continue with the Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh is reportedly to take over the batting coach role in the franchise.
Despite with no coaching experience, Yuvraj Singh is expected to make a huge transition in the franchise.
IPL 2027 DC Bowling Coach
Munaf Patel was the bowling coach of the Delhi Capitals during the 2026 season, but is highly unlikely to continue in the role. According to some reports, Chaminda Vas is set to join the franchise as the fast bowling coach, while Amit Mishra is set to join as spin bowling coach.
