The Australian legend Ricky Ponting joined Punjab Kings as head coach in September 2024.

Ricky Ponting has had a coaching career spanning several major T20 franchises and international setups. He served as the head coach of Mumbai Indians from 2015 to 2016 after playing for Mumbai Indians and briefly captaining the side in 2013.

Meanwhile, He has served as the head coach of Delhi Capitals between 2018 and 2024, guiding the team to the finals in the 2020 season and three consecutive playoff appearances from 2019 to 2021.

He also worked as head of strategy for Hobart Hurricanes in 2022, helping oversee the club’s men’s program and coaching direction. He also served as Washington Freedom’s head coach in 2024 and guided the side to a title in his first season.

IPL 2027 PBKS Batting Coach

Former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin was appointed as the assistant coach of Punjab Kings in October 2022. The New South Wales-born was a member of the Australian World Cup-winning squad at both the 2007 Cricket World Cup and the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

He also featured for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. Following his international retirement in 2015, Brad Haddin was appointed as fielding coach for the Australian national cricket team in 2018.

He was appointed as an assistant coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad for the IPL 2019 season before moving to Punjab Kings in 2023.

IPL 2026 PBKS Bowling coach

Former Australian cricketer James Hopes is the fast bowling coach of the Punjab Kings, while former Indian cricketer Sairaj Bahutule remains the spin bowling coach.

James Hopes is the head coach of the Brisbane Heat (BBL) and the Queensland Bull men’s state team. In June 2026, he signed a three-year contract to return to his home state of Queensland.

He has also served as the fast bowling coach for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL as well as Washington Freedom in MLC.
