The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) concluded its month-and-a-half-long spectacular as the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (ABF) claimed the trophy, having had a memorable 2026 campaign. The tournament yet again proved to be a breeding ground for potential talents, which caught the eagle eyes of IPL scouts.

With Indian franchises always in the hunt for the next hidden gems, overseas leagues represent a hotbed of unique skills and talents. To further aid the IPL scouts, several stars from CPL 2026 are slated to feature in the West Indies squad for their upcoming tour of India, giving them a chance to judge the talents under subcontinental conditions.

Below are the five CPL breakout stars that IPL scouts need to keep an eye out for in the 2027 season.

1.Quentin Sampson

At just 26, Quentin Sampson is looking like a serious prospect. Having received his maiden international call-up this year and a place in the T20 World Cup squad, Sampson delivered his true potential in the CPL 2026.

He smashed out 141 runs at a strike rate of 185.52, belting 14 sixes from 76 deliveries, his power displayed when he hit 37 runs from 11 balls faced against the St.

Lucia Kings. A right-arm pace bowler on the rise, yet he remains raw, Sampson has the potential to grow into a genuine pace all-rounder, which is exactly what every IPL franchise wants.

2.Matthew Ford

Although yet to receive an IPL contract, the 24-year-old Matthew Forde has so far been knocking on the door. Although without explosive pace, Forde has been very accurate and uses a variety of clever variations, finishing as one of the joint highest wicket-takers of the tournament with 16 wickets at an average of 19.50.

Forde's 2026 season has seen him take 34 wickets from 29 T20 matches at an average of 22.38.

He's still got a few years left in him, so acquiring the services of the handy seamer will surely benefit a franchise looking for a tactically sound bowling all-rounder.

3. Shamar Springer

Once upon a time, Shamar Springer was the leading run scorer for the West Indies in the historic 2016 U-19 World Cup triumph, but the 28-year-old is looking to reinvent himself as a lethal white-ball seamer.

With a high-arm action and the ability to generate serious pace, Springer has reeled in 12 wickets at an average of 19.08 during the CPL 2026, including a hat-trick against Afghanistan earlier this year.

As he finds his batting again, Springer will be looking to prove himself in India.

4. Vital Laws

Left-arm wrist spinners are one of the most sought-after commodities in cricket, and with the 19-year-old Vitel Lawes, he makes his debut after being called up to the national team before making his competitive domestic debut, and backing it up with a strong CPL campaign for the Jamaica Kingsmen where he picked up 10 wickets.

Despite missing out on a place in the T20I squad for the India tour, he has been included in the ODI set-up and comes to India off a stellar campaign as the West Indies U-19's leading wicket-taker at the 2026 World Cup.

He's worth keeping an eye on.

5. Jakeem Pollard

Perhaps the most exciting discovery of the year, 18-year-old left-arm pacer Jakeem Pollard made his competitive debut in the CPL 2026 and has already been turning heads. Standing tall and able to pull out the steep bounce, Pollard has rattled off some big names such as Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Nicholas Pooran, with 4 wickets from 5 matches at an economy of 7.68.

Having impressed during the U-19 World Cup earlier this year, Pollard has already proved his talent with the ability to dismiss internationals such as Rovman Powell, so a swift promotion to the senior West Indies team and possible IPL auction block is surely not far away.
