The Board of Control for Cricket in India has allotted 3 venues in India to the Afghanistan cricket team for playing matches. These three venues are Greater Noida, Kanpur and Lucknow. The Afghanistan team will play its home matches on these grounds. India has been helping Afghanistan in this way in the past as well. But the Afghanistan Cricket Board has taken a big decision which Indian cricket fans may not like at all.
According to media reports, Afghanistan Cricket Board officials have reportedly assured Pakistan that they will participate in the Champions Trophy 2025 and send their team. Earlier, reports had surfaced that Afghanistan, like India, will not send its team for the Champions Trophy 2025. This has come to light after Afghanistan officials met PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi at the ICC annual meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
This means that Afghanistan officials have reportedly dismissed rumours of not sending a team for their first Champions Trophy in 2025. There have also been reports that there was no discussion between the BCCI and the PCB on the Champions Trophy at the AGM.
Whether BCCI will send Team India to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy or not is still a big question. Let us tell you, the Indian team has not visited Pakistan since 2008. This time too, the chances of visiting Pakistan are low. Pakistan was also given the hosting rights of Asia Cup 2023. But even then the Indian team did not visit Pakistan. The tournament was hosted in a hybrid model. In such a situation, everyone is waiting to see whether this tournament will be played in Pakistan this time or the hybrid model will be used.
