Delhi: Indian cricket team's star batsman Suryakumar Yadav may be out of the team at present, but his brilliance in T20 cricket is not hidden from anyone. Surya, who is counted among the best T20 batsmen in the world, has more than 9,000 runs in his name in this format. For India too, he is the third highest run scorer in T20 International.
Recently, during a conversation on Humans of Bombay's YouTube channel, Suryakumar said an interesting thing about young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Surya told that if he gets a chance to steal a special skill of any player, then he would like to take Vaibhav's skill of hitting sixes in his name.
When Suryakumar Yadav was asked which skill of any one player he would like to imbibe, he took the name of Vaibhav Suryavanshi without thinking much. Surya said,
“There is a young boy, you must have heard his name – Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Definitely his ability to hit sixes.”
Surya himself is known for playing 360 degree shots on the field and hitting long sixes. In such a situation, his choosing this ability of Vaibhav can be considered a big compliment for this young batsman.
During the conversation, Suryakumar Yadav was also asked about the most difficult bowler he faced. Here too he did not take the name of any outside player, but chose his own teammate Jasprit Bumrah.
Surya said jokingly, “He is in my team, Bumrah.”
Suryakumar has been sharing the dressing room with Bumrah for a long time. In IPL, he has been Bumrah's teammate with Mumbai Indians since 2018, while both have been together in the Indian team since 2021.
When Suryakumar was asked to choose between Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma, the decision was not easy for him.
Surya told that it was after seeing Sachin Tendulkar that the passion for playing cricket developed in him. He used to watch Sachin playing on TV in his childhood. On the other hand, he has played cricket with Rohit Sharma for a long time and has also appeared on the field under his captaincy.
For this reason, Surya kept both of them equal and said, “I started playing cricket because of Sachin sir. I used to watch him on TV when I was young, but I have played a lot of cricket with Rohit and under the captaincy of Rohit, so 50-50.”
