Delhi: Bangladesh cricket team has announced its squad for the one-off test against Afghanistan. The most talked about thing in this team is the return of Tauheed Hridoy. Hridoy has been rewarded for his excellent performance in this Test to be played between 9 to 13 October in UAE.

Last month, Hridoy played an unbeaten inning of 350 runs for Bangladesh A in the second unofficial Test against South Africa A.

This is the highest score by a Bangladeshi batsman in first class cricket. After this brilliant performance, he has returned to the Test team.

Tauheed Hridoy batted brilliantly during his innings of 350 runs against South Africa A. His innings not only put Bangladesh A in a strong position, but also opened the doors to the Test team.

Middle order batsman Hridoy is now ready to show his strength in red ball cricket against Afghanistan. Along with him, wicketkeeper batsman Zaker Ali has also been included in the team.

Zaker Ali has got a chance in the team in place of Amit Hasan. Bangladesh Cricket Board's chief selector Habibul Bashar said that this decision has been taken considering the current form.

Taskin Ahmed given rest

Bangladesh has decided to rest fast bowler Taskin Ahmed from this test. According to Bashar, keeping the Test Championship in mind, the team management wants to keep Taskin fully prepared for the upcoming important Test series.

Bangladesh next has to play a test series against West Indies. In such a situation, there is a plan to field Taskin in that series with his full fitness and experience.

However, he can play in the ODI series against West Indies, so that his match rhythm continues.

Hasan Mahmood and Shariful Islam will handle fast bowling

In the absence of Taskin, Hasan Mahmood and Shariful Islam will lead the fast bowling attack of Bangladesh. Both the bowlers recently impressed in the two-match Test series against Australia. In the first innings of the first Test, Hasan Mahmood had dismissed six Australian batsmen. Shariful Islam had taken seven wickets in the first innings of the second test.

Fast bowler Nahid Rana has not got a place in the Test team against Afghanistan. However, chief selector Habibul Bashar has given important information regarding his return.

According to Bashar, Naheed will be available to play competitive cricket from October 10. Bangladesh will next play four important WTC matches at home against West Indies and England. The board wants to keep Naheed ready for these matches.
