India cricketer Rinku Singh is set to marry Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj at the Ramada Hotel in Lucknow on December 4. Since the wedding date has been finalised, both families have started the preparations. Apart from the family members, big politicians, Indian cricketers and friends are expected to grace the occasion. Rinku is a big name in Indian cricketing circles and has played for the Men in Blue in ODI and T20I formats.

He is the vice-captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and one of the front-runners to replace Ajinkya Rahane as captain from IPL 2027. Rahane recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Rinku recently led his franchise to a title win in the UPT20 League. On the other hand, Priya is the  Samajwadi Party MP from Machhlishahr in Uttar Pradesh.

The two got engaged at the Centrum Hotel in Lucknow on 8 June 2025.  After their ring ceremony, Rinku and Priya cut the cake and even danced with the family members and guests.

Rinku and Priya’s love story started three years ago. He saw her picture on a fan page but was not sure about texting her. But once Priya liked his photos, he messaged her, and the two became friends.

“It all happened during COVID times when the IPL was being played in Mumbai. I saw her photo and thought she was perfect for me. I was not sure about sending her a text, but when she liked my photos, I messaged her, and that’s how it started. We started talking even before matches,”  said Rinku, as quoted by the Times of India.

On the cricket front, Rinku has been in and out of the Indian National Cricket Team since making his debut in 2023.

In 48 T20Is, the 28-year-old has scored 702 runs at an average of 36.94 and a strike rate of 156.34, including three fifties. Rinku has represented India in two ODIs, amassing 55 runs. He was last seen in action for India during the T20I series against Zimbabwe but was dropped for the ongoing assignment against Afghanistan.
