Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya has pledged to play an unforgettable brand of cricket in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Pandya was traded in by MI from the Gujarat Titans (GT) in November, as he returns to the team with which he has won four championships, before leading GT to their maiden trophy win in 2022. "The feeling of wearing this colour is very special for me. Journey started here, coming back home and playing is always going to be special,' said Pandya in a video posted by the franchise on social media. "We will make sure we will play a brand of cricket which all will be proud of and at the same point of time it's going to be a ride no one will forget," he added. Head coach Mark Boucher has Pandya's back, backing the player to perform well with the team seeking their first win after three seasons. :ICC introduces groundbreaking rule to reduce time wastage in limited overs cricket "He (Pandya) certainly knows the changing room better than what I do. It's sort of homecoming for couple of people. He has fitted in really well and is excited for the season. We look forward to having him back and winning some games for Mumbai Indians again,' said Boucher in another MI video. Boucher explained that everyone is as excited as they are at the start of every season. There are nerves around because of some fresh faces, but the team will be wanting to build up well for their opening fixture, which is incidentally against GT in Ahmedabad on March 24.
