New Delhi: India women’s cricket team all-rounder Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of the remainder of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed in a media release on Saturday (July 20).
The Indian youngster has sustained a fracture to a finger on the left hand. Shreyanka picked up the injury during India’s seven-wicket win over Pakistan in their first match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. She happened to hurt her fourth finger on the left hand while attempting a catch. “Shreyanka Patil of India has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament after she sustained an injury while fielding during the team’s opening game of the tournament, against Pakistan,” the ACC issued a statement on Saturday. “She sustained a fracture of the fourth finger of her left hand while attempting to take a catch,” the statement further read. Shreyanka bowled her complete quota of overs (3.2 overs) and picked the wickets of Aliya Riaz and Sadia Iqbal to finish with bowling figures of 2 for 14. Uncapped left-arm spin bowler Tanuja Kanwar has been called up as replacement for the Karnataka youngster in the remaining tournament.
