The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering hosting the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE. A Times of India story reports that a few BCCI representatives are in the UAE investigating the prospect of relocating the second half of the Indian Premier League to the Gulf nation.

The decision could be made because the dates of the General Elections may collide with the second part of the IPL. The election date is anticipated to be announced by the Election Commission on Saturday, March 16

'On Saturday at 3 p.m., the Indian Election Commission will declare the election timetable. The BCCI will next determine whether or not it should be relocated to Dubai. A few top BCCI officials are currently in Dubai investigating the potential of holding the IPL's second half there, a BCCI official was reported by TOI as saying. According to reports, some franchises have already asked players to provide their passports. For those who are unaware, the UAE hosted the first part of the 2024 Indian Premier League because of the General Elections. The BCCI released the first half IPL schedule last month. It consists of 21 matches. Two double headers are scheduled for the opening weekend: the Punjab Kings will play the Delhi Capitals in the afternoon on Saturday, and the Kolkata Knight Riders will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the evening.. Meanwhile,The opening game of the series takes place in Chennai on March 22 at 8 p.m. IST, with MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings, the reigning champions, against a star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore.
