Australia's star batsman Marnus Labuschagne created history with his brilliant bowling for Glamorgan in the T20 Blast 2024 match against Somerset at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Friday (July 19).

Labuschagne took 5 wickets for 11 runs in 2.3 overs, in which he also bowled a maiden over. Labuschagne took the last 5 wickets of Somerset.

Labuschagne bowled out four Somerset batsmen and thus created a unique record.

He became the second player in the world to dismiss four players in an innings as a leg spinner in men's T20 cricket. Earlier in 2012, South Africa's Faf du Plessis had achieved this feat.

Labuschagne showed excellent all-round performance in T20 Blast 2024.

He scored 228 runs at an average of 20.72 and took 15 wickets in bowling at an average of 12.86.

It is worth noting that in this match, Glamorgan defeated Somerset by a huge margin of 120 runs. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Glamorgan scored a huge score of 243 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Captain Kiran Carlson batted in a stormy manner and scored 135 runs in 64 balls with the help of 14 fours and 8 sixes. His fellow opener William Smalley scored 59 runs in 34 balls, hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes. Both of them together made a partnership of 169 runs in 14 overs for the first wicket.

In response, the Somerset team was all out for 123 runs in 13.3 overs. Seven players of the team could not reach the double digit figure.
