All-rounder Axar Patel played an important role in helping India win the T20 World Cup 2024. He made his mark with his brilliant performance with both bat and ball. Now this spin all-rounder has revealed his favorite wicket of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 last month. He has named Jos Buttler.

Patel said, “This is a very tough question. My personal favourite was the first wicket of dismissing Jos Buttler against England in the semi-finals. The second was clean bowling Jonny Bairstow and the third was dismissing Marcus Stoinis against Australia. Buttler's wicket is important for me because of what happened in the 2022 World Cup.”

The all-rounder said, “I was there when they chased our score without losing any wicket. That memory was in my mind, and I was committed to do well for the team no matter what. I bowled my first over in the powerplay, got Buttler out and then I clean bowled Bairstow with an arm ball in my second over of the powerplay. He failed to read my delivery and missed it.”

The left-arm spinner has taken 9 wickets in 8 matches played in the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the United States and West Indies with the help of an economy rate of 7.86. While batting, Akshar scored 92 runs in 5 innings with the help of a strike rate of 139.39. During this, his highest score was 47 runs which came against South Africa in the final.
