Team India has started with a win in the Women's Asia Cup. The team defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the first match. Pakistan had set a target of 109 runs. The Indian batsmen chased it with 35 balls to spare. After defeating Pakistan with bowling, India's two openers Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana thrashed them fiercely. Mandhana thrashed the Pakistani bowlers in a way that she will never forget.
Smriti Mandhana made the target very easy with her aggressive batting. She kept attacking continuously, due to which Pakistan was never able to make a comeback in the game.
She started hitting from the powerplay itself and continued this process till she was out. Before getting out, she hit 5 fours in one over. Mandhana started with a four on the first ball of Tuba Hasan in the 8th over. She played the next ball as a dot, but hit 4 consecutive fours on the next 4 balls. She scored 45 runs in 31 balls against Pakistan at a strike rate of 145 and shared a partnership of 85 runs with Shefali Verma. Apart from Mandhana, Shefali Verma played a brilliant innings of 40 runs in 29 balls.In the first match of the Women's Asia Cup, the Pakistan team completely surrendered to India.
During batting, all the Pakistani batsmen looked helpless from the beginning of the innings. Whenever they tried to score runs quickly, they lost wickets. Due to wickets falling at regular intervals, the entire team could score only 108 runs.
