West Indies start their second Test match of the England series on July 18. The visitors, who recently scripted an incredible Test victory at the Gabba against World Test Champions Australia would try to find some inspiration once again after their innings defeat in the first game.
The West Indies side failed with the bat in both innings, an issue that has plagued the side quite often. Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the second Test match, wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva has hoped that the Windies batters do not give away easy wickets in the game. "We are pretty disappointed after the first Test. We have put that behind us, we've had our discussions, and we are looking forward to the second Test. We are doing everything we can, rebuilding and going hard...into the next Test." Silva said.   "Obviously in the batting a few of us didn't stick our hands up. We had a few soft dismissals," Da Silva said. "It's about reminding ourselves of the process and trusting that process because all of us have a different way of going about it. It's just about trusting our own game and making sure we get the job done," Da Silva added. West Indies were in trouble in the first Test match after speedster Shamar Joseph hobbled off after a poor outing. Shamar bowled nearly 16 overs in the first innings and then walked off the pitch clutching his hamstring. Da Silva believes that Shamar will be good to go for the next two Test matches. "He should be good yeah," Da Silva said of Shamar. "I am not part of the medical team so I can't really comment. But he bowled a couple in training so I'm sure he will be alright," he added. Da Silva, just like the Windies coach thought that the team could take some pride out of the Australia Test win. "It's something we can look at," he said. "It happened the same, that time in Australia. We came back and we won the Test. If we can replicate that, all of us will be really happy. It's not going to be easy again."
