Ishan Kishan: Indian team's star wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan has been out of Team India for some time now. In such a situation, the coaching management of Team India has changed and now Gautam Gambhir has become the new head coach of India.
After Gambhir's inclusion in India's coaching staff, Ishan's good days have started and he may return to the team. Kishan did not follow the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and due to this he was expelled.
In fact, Ishaan withdrew his name from the Test series played against South Africa in early 2024 and cited his mental state as not being right. However, after this he was seen partying at many other places.
After Kishan withdrew his name, BCCI instructed him to play in Ranji Trophy but he did not listen to the board and continued to prepare for IPL on his own. After this, he was dropped from the central contract and is not even getting a place in Team India.
If all the media reports coming out so far are to be believed, Ishan may return to Team India for the tour against Sri Lanka starting from July 27. Kishan can be included in both T20 and ODI teams.
Ishan did not get a place in the Indian team even on the recently concluded Zimbabwe tour, where all the young players were given a chance in Team India but Ishan's name was not included in it and now it will be interesting to see whether Kishan gets a chance in the team after Gambhir becomes the head coach or not.
Recently, Kishan put forth his side after being left out of the central contract and said that he was consistently performing well but despite this he was kept out of the playing eleven and due to this he had mental problems. In such a situation, he decided to take a break from cricket but now he is feeling better and is waiting for the start of India's domestic season.
