Pakistan is playing tricks for Champions Trophy, made a strange demand from BCCI

The ruckus that happened in 2023 regarding the Asia Cup has started once again. Once again the PCB and BCCI are face to face regarding the tournament to be held in Pakistan. The Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan in February-March 2025 but once again the issue of Team India going to Pakistan has become hot. Last year, the BCCI refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup and the same situation persists this time as well. The PCB, which is seeing the entire hosting of the second important tournament slipping out of its hands, has now resorted to a new trick and has sought a written reply from the BCCI.

PCB made a demand from BCCI

Last year also during the Asia Cup, Team India was refused to be sent, due to which Team India's matches were played in Sri Lanka. This time also the situation remains the same and there is no possibility of Team India going to Pakistan. An ICC tournament is going to be held in Pakistan after 28 years and hence the PCB is trying hard to keep it completely with itself. Hence now it has made a new move and has made a different kind of demand from the Indian Board.

A PTI report citing sources in the Pakistan board said that the PCB has told the BCCI that if it does not want to send Team India for the Champions Trophy due to security reasons, then it will have to take this order of the Indian government in writing and send it to the ICC. The PCB is adamant that the BCCI should inform the ICC about Team India's plan to come to Pakistan for the tournament 5-6 months in advance.

Has not visited Pakistan since 2008

The Indian team has not visited Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, the biggest reason for which is the deteriorating relations between the two countries. Due to Pakistan's continuous support and execution of terrorist activities in India, bilateral cricket between the two countries has completely stopped and the two teams clash only in the World Cup or Asia Cup. However, during this period, the Pakistani team has come to India 3-4 times to play cricket but Team India has not visited Pakistan due to political reasons and security arrangements.
