India's participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is reportedly in doubt, and won't be discussed at the ICC's meeting in Dubai on March 15. Earlier, there were reports that the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi was expected to meet the ICC Executive Board and the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah to get an assurance about the Indian team travelling to Pakistan, the hosts for the mega ICC event next year.

However, as per the latest reports by RevSportz, the tournament that is set to be played in Pakistan in February-March 2025 is not an item on the meeting's agenda. An ICC source RevSportz, 'The Champions Trophy is not on the agenda as far as I'm aware.' Notably, the Indian team's visit to the neighbouring nation will be subject to the Indian government's clearance.

India's participation in Champions Trophy 2025 in doubts

While Mohsin is likely to discuss the matter with Shah, the BCCI will remain non-committal about sending the team across the border. Earlier, Shah told reporters in Rajkot, 'Our position depends on what the government will decide. Who knows what the situation will be after a year.' Despite the fact that Pakistan travelled to India for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, there is no guarantee that India will reciprocate the same. Asia Cup 2023 was set to be played in Pakistan, but the BCCI didn't send the team to Pakistan as the government denied clearance. Hence, the tournament was forced to be hosted in the hybrid model, with just four matches being hosted in Pakistan. Garima Ranawat
