Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed former fast bowler Wahab Riaz and veteran all-rounder Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee of its national cricket team. Wahab and Razzaq are no longer part of the selection panel. Now, after them, former batsmen Mohammad Yusuf and Asad Shafiq are included as members of the selection committee, while Bilal Afzal is also one of its members.

According to Pakistani media, PCB did not trust Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq for some time. They had more involvement in the selection of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 team and these selectors supported the same players whom they knew. According to sources, the opinion of these selectors was not being taken for some time.

For your information, let us tell you that the selection committee of the Pakistan national cricket team included 4 former cricketers Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq and Mohammad Yousuf, while Wahab was also the senior manager of the team.

There is also news that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Pakistan cricket team coach Gary Kirsten, Jason Gillespie and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood. He gave a free hand to the coaches and said that I have full faith in you, I will fully support you in coaching the players.

Pakistan performed poorly in ICC T20 World Cup

The performance of the Pakistani team was very poor in the recently played ICC T20 World Cup 2024 hosted by America and West Indies. Under the captaincy of legendary batsman Babar Azam, they had to face defeat against India and America, as a result of which they were eliminated from the group round itself and their dream of winning the title remained unfulfilled. After this, the team with green jersey was severely criticized.
