Hobart, Mar 15: Seasoned Australian wicketkeeper-batter, Matthew Wade has announced his intention to retire from first-class cricket following the upcoming Sheffield Shield final.

The final, slated to commence on March 21 between Tasmania and Western Australia, will mark the culmination of Wade's illustrious red-ball career, which commenced in 2012. Despite bidding adieu to first-class cricket, Wade affirmed his availability for selection in white-ball formats, signifying his continued commitment to the game.   In a statement released on Friday (March 15), Wade expressed his gratitude for the challenges and experiences that the long-form of the game has provided him throughout his career. The left-handed batter, who represented Australia in 36 Tests, amassed 1613 runs, including four centuries, at an average of 29.87.
