Indian cricket team's young opening batsman Abhishek Sharma (Abhishek Sharma T20I Century) created history by scoring a stormy century in the second T20 International against Zim on Sunday (7 July). Playing his second match, Abhishek played a record-breaking innings of 100 runs in 47 balls with the help of 7 fours and 8 sixes. During this, he completed his century in just 46 balls.

Abhishek scored the first 50 runs of his innings in 33 balls and the next 50 runs in 13 balls.

Century in least number of innings

Abhishek has achieved the feat of scoring the first century (full member country) in the least number of innings in T20 International, he has created a world record by doing so in just 2 innings. Before Abhishek, only Eniv Lewis and Richard Levi had scored the first T20 International century in 2 innings.

Deepak Hooda scored his first century for India in 3 innings.

3rd fastest century

Abhishek has reached the joint third position in terms of scoring the fastest century in T20 International for India. KL Rahul scored a century in 46 balls against West Indies in Lauderhill in 2016. Abhishek has become the third Indian player to hit a six off his first ball in a T20 innings. Earlier, Virender Sehwag had hit a six off the first ball of his innings against New Zealand in 2009 and Rohit Sharma had hit a six off the first ball of his innings against England in 2021.
