Ishan Kishan was a regular member of Team India till the 2023 ODI World Cup. He was constantly associated with the team and also played many big tournaments. However, he has not had a good time after the ODI World Cup ended. He has been out of the team since his sudden return from the South Africa tour. He has not played any match for Team India since November 2023. IPL 2024 was also not special for him. Meanwhile, the BCCI also dropped him from the central contract. He was also not selected for the T20 World Cup. He was hoping that the BCCI would give him a chance to return on the Zimbabwe tour, but this also slipped out of hand. Now Ishan Kishan has accepted defeat in front of the BCCI and has taken a big decision.

Kishan bowed before BCCI

There has been a long-running 'war' between Ishan Kishan and BCCI, but it seems that they have now given up. Following the instructions of BCCI, Kishan is now going to participate in the Ranji Trophy. In an interview given to the Indian Express, Kishan has spoken openly about the controversy between him and BCCI in the last 6 months. He said that he had taken a break due to mental fatigue, but is feeling good at the moment. And he is preparing in Mumbai for the upcoming Ranji season. Kishan said that he is waiting for the domestic season and wants to do well for Jharkhand.

Why was Kishan not playing in Ranji?

After Ishan Kishan's break, BCCI had instructed him to play in Ranji Trophy to return to the team, but he did not listen. Now he has told the reason for this. According to Kishan, it was normal for him to take a break, but the team's rule is that to make a comeback, he has to perform in domestic cricket. However, he did not see any meaning behind this, because at that time he was not mentally ready to play. That's why he took a break from international cricket as well.

What was the Kishan-BCCI case?

As soon as the ODI World Cup ended, Ishan Kishan was sent to South Africa for the T20 series with Team India. There, Jitesh Sharma was given a chance as a wicketkeeper before him. Before the Test series, there was talk of making KL Rahul do wicketkeeping. After this, he withdrew his name from the series in anger. Since then, there has been a 'war' between BCCI and him. Before the South Africa series, he did not get opportunities in the Asia Cup and the World Cup, due to which he was angry. After returning from South Africa, he appeared in some shows and events, but did not participate in domestic cricket, after which BCCI took action and removed him from the central contract.
