Team India's veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin currently plays for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Before this, he has played for Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team Chennai Super Kings for many years. The IPL mega auction is going to come at the end of this year. Before this, he has once again hinted at returning to his old team. Ashwin recently visited the CSK Academy in Salem, Tamil Nadu. He has also shared a video of his conversation with the children of the academy. In view of this, speculations are being made about his return.

CSK had made him the head of the academy

Chennai Super Kings has built many high performance centers for children in Tamil Nadu and abroad. Young children are given cricket training in these academies. CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan had made Ashwin its head last month. He had told that from now on Ravichandran Ashwin will take charge of the Chennai Super Kings academy. Since then, news of his return to CSK started coming. Now he has made a surprise visit to the academy.

On the other hand, the mega auction will come soon, there is little chance of him being retained in it. Rajasthan Royals bought Ashwin for 5 crores in 2022 and retained him in 2023. The 2023 season was not good for him. If the current rule of retention of 4 players continues, then considering his performance and their purse, Rajasthan team may send him to the auction. This will clear the way for CSK.

Started with CSK

Ravichandran Ashwin made his IPL debut in 2008 with Chennai Super Kings. After this, he played for this team for 8 years i.e. till 2015. He has spent most of his time in IPL with CSK. After this, when the CSK team was banned, he played for Rising Pune Supergiants for 2 years. Then after playing for Punjab and Delhi for two years each, he moved to Rajasthan in 2022.

Performance in IPL

IPL 2024 was not good for Ashwin. In this season, he could take only 9 wickets in 15 matches. During this, he conceded runs at an economy of 8.49. While batting, he scored 86 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 116. Ashwin has played 212 matches in IPL, in which he has taken 180 wickets. During this, his economy has been 7.12.
