Indian team's star batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have now retired from T20 International after the team became champion in the T20 World Cup 2024. In such a situation, now former Indian team cricketer Suresh Raina has made a big request to the BCCI.

Jersey numbers 18 and 45 should be retired

Actually, Suresh Raina believes that BCCI should now retire his jersey numbers i.e. jersey number 18 and jersey number 45 in honor of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Suresh Raina said, 'I request BCCI to retire jersey numbers 18 and 45. Both these jersey numbers should now be kept in the office. Jersey number 7 has already been retired and now the same should happen with jersey numbers 18 and 45. Whenever anyone sees these numbers, he will get motivation. Jersey numbers 18 and 45 have won many matches for India in different situations. So now whatever player comes into the team, he should get motivation by seeing these numbers.'

BCCI has retired these jersey numbers

Let us tell you that till date only two jersey numbers have been retired in the history of Indian cricket, which are jersey number 7 and jersey number 10. The jersey number 7 was worn by Dhoni under whose leadership India won many matches and they won the T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011 and Champion Trophy 2013.

The jersey number 10 belonged to the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar, the great batsman who scored a lot of runs, played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and one T20 match for India. During this time, he scored 15921 runs in Test cricket and 18426 runs in ODI cricket. Sachin is called the God of Cricket and he also has a record of scoring 100 centuries.
