Delhi: Indian captain Rohit Sharma has said that Team India's ICC T20 World Cup victory in 2024 is more special than the victory in 2007, because at that time he was playing as a player and this time he has won the title as a captain. It is worth noting that after winning the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in the final, the Men in Blue returned home on July 4.

“2007 was a different feeling. We started in the afternoon and it's evening now. I can't forget 2007 because it was my first World Cup. This one is a little more special because I was leading the team, so it's a very proud moment for me,” the 37-year-old said in a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

He further added, “You can understand the excitement and it shows how much it means not just to us but to the whole country. It means a lot, so I am very happy that we could achieve something like this for them as well.”
