Indian batting star Virat Kohli departed from Mumbai late night for London, following the T20 World Cup victory celebrations with the national team on July 4. The Indian squad was stranded in Barbados for three days due to Hurricane Beryl, before returning home on a chartered flight.

After a lengthy delay, the ‘Men in Blue,’ arrived in Delhi to a rousing welcome reception. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the team for a special breakfast and was seen talking to players. The team then traveled to Mumbai, where they participated in a special road show, posing with the trophy for the fans.

The Indian squad was honored by the BCCI at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The players electrified the crowd with their energetic dance performances and by singing ‘Vande Mataram,’ composed by A.R. Rahman.

Kohli apparently took a flight to London to be with his family despite having spent a long and exhausting day. Anushka Sharma is in London with their two kids, Vamika and Akaay. Anushka attended the India vs Pakistan match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Kohli delivered a match-winning 76 (59) in the final, earning him the Player of the Match award. Heading into the final, the 35-year-old opener was out of form, scoring just 75 runs in the first seven matches – his lowest numbers in the tournament’s history.

When the team was struggling at 34/3 in the 4.3 overs of the crucial final, Kohli stepped up and delivered a vital knock, guiding them to a respectable total of 176/7 in their 20 overs.
