Indian cricket team returns home, receives champions jersey with two stars

Indian players were given a special champions jersey after they arrived in Delhi. The winning squad will don the jersey during their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the victory parade in Mumbai.

Sanju Samson was the first cricketer to share a picture of the new jersey.

The T20 World Cup champions returned home on Thursday in a chartered plane. The fans turned up in large numbers to welcome the heroes.

After flaunting the trophy to fans at the airport, the Men in Blue were given a warm welcome at ITC Maurya.

The players have reached the official residence of the Prime Minister of India.

After meeting him, they will leave for Mumbai for a ceremony at the Wankede Stadium.

Rohit Sjarma-led team will also have an open-top bus victory parade in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the new jersey has two stars, signifying India’s second T20 World Cup trophy victory.

Rohit walked out of the airport with a trophy in his hand. He, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya were seen dancing. The Indian cricket team took a 16-hour journey from Barbados in a specially chartered plane.

The team was stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. In the tournament’s final, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs, with Virat Kohli scoring 76 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik, and Arshdeep Singh were the star performers with the ball as India successfully defended 176 runs.
