The 42-year-old cricketer wrote in his tweet on the social media platform X, 'It is really disappointing that some players are hiding their poor performance in the World Cup by doing unnecessary press conferences and talking about things to religion. When they lie about their fitness and when they admit that they were acting on the field, where does religion go? Does religion teach you to deceive others and lie on the field?'

He further wrote, 'You get money to perform on the field and in return you join a group instead of a team.

Religion teaches us to fulfill our responsibilities with full determination and not to lie about our sufferings.'

It is worth noting that this reaction of Shahzad came a few hours after Mohammad Rizwan's interview promoting religion in the press conference. The wicketkeeper batsman had said that I think every person is a brand ambassador for two things. If he is a Muslim, he represents Islam wherever he goes in the world. Secondly, he is the brand ambassador of Pakistan.

Ahmed Shehzad wants PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi to find out the main reasons behind the team's poor performance in the tournament and take action against those found guilty, which he has promised to do.

He wrote on his X handle that some spokespersons of these players want them to be given another chance, but why? This is the Pakistan team and it is not their domestic team where they can play.

If they want another chance, they can make their own team and play with their friends, but not for the Pakistan cricket team anymore. We will not let PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi forget the major surgery he promised.

He further wrote that some players of the Pakistani team are now making fun of the chairman's statement because they do not care about it. But we will ensure that the fans get their answers and action is taken against these players. We have taken a stand and we will not back down until this Pakistani team is back on the right track.
