Former West Indies captain and great batsman Brian Lara praised England fast bowler James Anderson instead of Jasprit Bumrah and said that Anderson is the greatest fast bowler of all time.

Speaking to Sky Sports, legendary batsman Lara said that his stats speak volumes about how capable and great a player he is. His stats are incredible and he has served England cricket throughout his career.

Along with this, Lara said that among all the cricketers of England, very few come close to him and it is really not easy to take the most Test wickets as a fast bowler, whereas Jimmy's career lasted for 23 years.

James Anderson will retire

England's fast bowler James Anderson is currently 41 years old and is a part of the Test series being played between England and West Indies. The first match of the Test series starting on 10 July will be the last match of James' career.

In his career spanning more than two decades, Jimmy has taken more than 700 wickets in 187 Test matches at an average of 26.53 and a strike rate of about 57.

Made his debut against Zimbabwe

Anderson made his Test debut for England against Zimbabwe at Lord's on 22 May 2003, taking Mark Vermeulen as his first wicket, taking five wickets in the first innings.

Anderson is the third bowler to have taken 700 or more wickets in Test cricket. During the first Test between England and West Indies, he has a chance to break former Australian spinner Shane Warne's record of 708 wickets and come on second position.
