India all-rounder Axar Patel took a dig at the wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant for showing off his ICC T20 World Cup 2024 winners medal on social media. Axar scored 47 runs off 31 balls and dismissed Tristan Stubbs as India won the match by 7 runs.
Pant also played a key role in the campaign. He was named the Best Fielder in two matches during the tournament. On July 3, he posted a picture of himself with the winner’s medal. “This medal hits you differently,” wrote Pant.
Axar responded by mocking the Indian star, saying that he also has the same medal.
“Bhai, I also have the same,” he wrote in the comments section.
Indian players will arrive in Delhi on Thursday, July 4. The team is stuck in Barbados because of Hurricane Beryl. The sub-continent team was set to arrive on Wednesday, but the plan got delayed. Indian players are expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, has also offered the Indian journalists the opportunity to travel with the squad on the chartered plan arranged by the Indian Cricket Board.
