The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a big shock to the legendary batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and has cut their salaries. Let us tell you that on one hand these two legends have announced their retirement from T-20 cricket and now the board has also given them a shock.

BCCI has taken a big step and has cut the salaries of these two veterans and now they are going to get very little money.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will play only two formats for India

With the victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, both Virat and Rohit have said goodbye to T20 cricket.

Both of them will never be seen playing in this format for Team India again. However, they will continue to play in ODI and Test formats.

Along with Sharma and Kohli, veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also left the shortest format of cricket and now he will also be seen playing in only two formats. With this retirement, BCCI has also given him a shock.

Rohit and Virat's salary will be very less

BCCI gave a big blow to Rohit-Kohli, reduced their salary very much, now they will get only this much rupees annually from the board.

Let us tell you that at present both these players are in the Grade A+ category of BCCI's central contract and the cricket board pays Rs 7 crore annually to the players included in this category. However, only those players are included in it who play in all three formats and perform well consistently.

Now Rohit and Virat have left one format and due to this they can be included in Grade A, where both of them will get Rs 5 crore annually. Similarly, Jadeja can also be included in this grade and he will also get Rs 5 crore per year. However, these three giants will be kept in Grade A+ in the current season i.e. 2023-24.

4 players are included in A+ category

If we talk about this category, currently there are a total of 4 players in it, which include Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Jaspreet Bumrah. In such a situation, if the other three are removed from this grade, then Bumrah will be the only player included in it.

The other three can be included in the Rs 5 crore category i.e. Grade A.
