Even on his final day of employment, Team India’s departing head coach, Rahul Dravid, gave ace batsman Virat Kohli a task.
“One red to go, three white people pissed furious. In a video of the Indian dressing room celebrations posted by the ICC on its Instagram page, Rahul Dravid instructed Kohli to “tick it.”
Dravid was referring to the Champions Trophy that Virat Kohli won as a player, the T20 World Cup, and the ODI World Cup when he said “three whites.” The World Test Championship is the only thing left to win.
Previously, in 2021 against New Zealand and again in 2023 against Australia, Team India was defeated in the WTC final.
After Saturday’s World Cup victory, the 35-year-old Kohli announced his retirement from T20 Internationals. He just grinned warmly at Rahul Dravid while repeating his own statement. “Go tick it.”
