Recently, former India and RCB wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik retired from IPL. After this, he was seen doing commentary in the T20 World Cup, but before IPL 2025, Karthik has returned to the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in a new avatar. Now he will play the role of batting coach and mentor in this team.
RCB tweeted, “Welcome back to RCB in a new avatar as our keeper in every sense.
You can keep the man out of cricket but not the cricket out of the man. 12th Man Army.”It is worth noting that 39-year-old Karthik has played all three formats of cricket for India and has also won the T20 World Cup title for India in 2007. Apart from this, he has made significant contributions while playing for different teams in the IPL. In such a situation, his experience will be very useful for Royal Challengers Bangalore. As a batting coach, Karthik will help motivate the batsmen. Apart from this, he will also guide the young players as a mentor.
Let us tell you that in IPL, DK has scored 4842 runs in 234 innings at an average of 26.32 and a strike rate of 135, which includes 22 half-centuries. Apart from this, he has also hit 161 sixes and 422 fours in his IPL career.
