The ICC has revealed their team of the tournament after the enthralling T20 World Cup 2024 came to an exciting conclusion with undefeated India becoming victorious. It makes sense that Indian players predominate.

India became the first team to win the T20 World Cup without dropping a single game. As a player and captain, Rohit Sharma became the first Indian to win the championship.

Six Indians, including Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh, have made the cut for the ICC playing XI.

As the second-highest run scorer in the competition, Rohit got things started.

At a 156.7 strike rate, he scored 3 half-centuries and hit 257 runs.

In order to save his side from certain defeat, Suryakumar scored two half-centuries, one each against the USA and Afghanistan, and a crucial 47 runs against England in the semifinal.

Pandya, who finished with 11 wickets and 144 runs, was also very important. He made a lasting impression in the slog overs against South Africa in the final.

The powerful Heinrich Klaasen, whose scorching half-century had moved South Africa tantalizingly close to victory, was first taken out by Pandya.

And in the last over, which started with the major wicket of David Miller, he defended 16 runs.

Axar participated in every game and finished with 92 runs at a strike rate of 139.39 and 9 wickets at an economy of 7.86. Although his stats may not be as impressive as others’, he played a crucial role in India’s performances. Axar delivered when it counted, whether it was his brilliant 47-run innings against South Africa in the championship game or his one-handed grab of Mitchell Marsh in the Super 8.

Bumrah received player-of-the-tournament honours for being India’s most impressive ball player.

His incredible consistency throughout the tournament—he claimed 15 wickets at a fantastic economy of 4.17—was a major factor in India’s undefeated run.

It was a tournament to remember for Arshdeep. With 17 wickets in the end, he tied for the most in the competition. He led India’s assault from the off and performed well in the slow overs as well.

The following players are the ICC Team of the Tournament: Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Anrich Nortje (12th man), Suryakumar Yadav, Marcus Stoinis, and Rohit Sharma.
