It was a mountain to climb, but Virat Kohli did it. On Saturday, India secured a thrilling 7-run victory against South Africa, and the talisman Indian batter finally added the coveted T20 World Cup title to his impressive collection of accomplishments.

With his victory, Kohli has all but “completed” his career in cricket, having won the Champions Trophy, ODI World Cup, and T20 World Cup. He also set a record that no other cricket player has ever held. not even M. S. Dhoni.

There are more ICC trophies that Kohli has won than those listed above. The U-19 World Cup must also be added to one’s total, which makes Kohli the first player in history to have won all four ICC trophies—beating out Dhoni’s triple.

With his quadruple, Kohli now distinguishes himself from Yuvraj in a somewhat different way than the renowned southpaw did in 2002 when he shared the ICC Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka, who were also joint champions.

The batsman, Virat Kohli, did not have an easy time winning the T20 World Cup. Much seems to have gone against the talisman hitter, as he had a terrible start to the campaign and failed to record a strong inning until the final of the event.

But as the saying goes, “When the chips were down and India needed a savior,” the man rose to the occasion once again, this time with Virat Kohli using his bat to save the match and give the Indian players hope.

Axar Patel and Kohli would go on to score an innings-reviving partnership of 72 runs together, with the talisman serving as the anchor while Axar went on the attack after the early loss of wickets that left India at 34-3.

With a calculated 76 runs off 59 balls, Kohli, who had been struggling to bat in the tournament, led the way and helped his team avoid immediate danger and steadie the ship for the eventual historic total of 176, which was successfully defended by the energetic pace trio of Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah.

The Test Championship is the only thing preventing cricket’s “completion” and everlasting glory. After completing the three requirements for white-ball cricket, Kohli will now focus on being the best in red-ball cricket as well.
