India's T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma penned an emotional post on Sunday, 29 June. Sharma in his post said that he did not have the right words to express his emotions and that he would do it in time.
The Indian captain sunk into the ground after India defended 15 runs in the final over of the match against South Africa. Rohit walked to pitch in Barbados and tasted a small sample of the soil to soak in the moment. On Sunday, Rohit tried to express his thoughts on the title win, but stated in his post that he was not able to find the correct words. "This picture epitomises how I'm feeling right now. So many words but can't find the right ones to express what yesterday meant to me but I will, and I will share them, but right now I'm basking in a dream come true for a billion of us," Sharma said on Twitter.   Sharma had spoken details in the post-match press conference about his emotions after winning the T20 World Cup. Rohit felt that he was meant to sign off from the T20I format with a World Cup victory as he had started his career with a World Cup win. Sharma had praised Rahul Dravid in his post-match press conference and had said that out of the entire Indian squad, Dravid had deserved to win the title the most. It was a fitting farewell to two of the most celebrated players in T20I cricket. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired from the shortest format of the game after inspiring India to a T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados on Saturday, June 29. Rohit, the captain, led from the front throughout the campaign in the USA and the West Indies, while Virat Kohli, the ex-captain, delivered when it mattered the most for the team.
