The date of 29 June 2024 will forever be recorded as a happy day in the history of Indian cricket. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India defeated South Africa in the final and won the T20 World Cup 2024 title. With this, Team India again captured an ICC trophy, ending the long wait of 11 years. This victory of Team India forced the whole country to dance with joy. Even the next day of the victory, the whole country was immersed in its celebration, but another match between India and South Africa was going on thousands of kilometers away from Barbados, in which an Indian bowler alone wreaked havoc.
Apart from the T20 World Cup final, a test match is being played between the women's teams of India and South Africa at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. On the first and second day of the match, the Indian batsmen dominated, who scored 603 runs in the first innings and put South Africa in trouble. After this, the third day saw the havoc of the Indian bowlers. Not even the bowlers, but just one bowler, who single-handedly finished off the South African team. Her name is Sneh Rana.
Right-handed spin all-rounder Sneh did not get a chance to do anything in batting but it was important to show her flair in bowling and that is what happened.
Sneh laid such a web of her off-spin that one by one every South African batsman got trapped in it. Sneh gave the first blow to South Africa by dismissing their captain Laura Woolfart and then broke the back of the entire team by taking 8 wickets straight. In her spell of 25.3 overs, Sneh conceded 77 runs and took 8 wickets. Sneh's bowling was so amazing that South African batsman Masabata Klaas forgot to bat.View this post on Instagram
Masabata did not try to play any shot on Rana's off break ball. She thought the ball would go straight to the wicketkeeper but the ball turned and hit the stumps, while Masabata's bat remained in the air. On the basis of this excellent bowling of Rana, India bowled out South Africa for just 266 runs and forced them to follow-on. South Africa performed better in their second innings and scored 232 runs by losing 2 wickets by the end of the day's play. For them, former captain Sune Liess played a brilliant innings of 109 runs, while captain Woolfart missed a century and was out for 93 runs. South African team is still 105 runs behind.
