25 June was the day when India made its mark in world cricket for the first time 41 years ago. The Indian team captained by Kapil Dev won the title for the first time by defeating West Indies in the 1983 World Cup final. That victory laid the foundation for making cricket popular in India and the date of 25 June settled in the hearts of the fans.
Now once again the month of June is going to be special for Indian cricket because on 29 June, Team India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma will take the field to win the T20 World Cup 2024 title. If Team India succeeds here, the whole country will celebrate but there is one person who will be the happiest. This is Dinesh Lad, coach of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. The final of the World Cup 2024 is to be played between Team India and South Africa at Kensington Oval ground in Bridgetown, Barbados. Team India is considered to be the strongest contender for this title but it also has a lot of expectations on it.
For the last 13 years, the Indian team has been waiting to become the world champion, while for the last 11 years it has been waiting for an ICC title. In the last 12 months, Team India has lost in the final twice but for the third time it will come out to end this wait.In this final too, everyone's eyes will be on the performance and captaincy of captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit led the team brilliantly throughout the tournament and especially in the last two matches, he has scored the most runs for the team in difficult situations.
In such a situation, not only the common Indian fans but also Rohit's childhood coach Dinesh Lad is hopeful that Rohit will play well even today. In an exclusive conversation with TV9 Hindi, Lad praised his old disciple and said that he is captaining brilliantly and will return only after winning the World Cup for Team India.Dinesh Lad said that Rohit has always played with the intention of winning and he is confident that the Indian captain will do the same in the final as he has been doing throughout the tournament.
He admitted that the South African team is also playing very well but being an Indian, he has full faith in his team India because Rohit also has a great desire that India becomes the T20 World Champion again after 2007. He also said that when Team India lifts the World Cup, he will be the happiest in the whole country. Now if a disciple wins the world, then obviously the Guru is the happiest.
