Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pacer from India, needs three more wickets to surpass the record for the most dismissals in a single T20 World Cup edition in 2024.

In the current T20 World Cup 2024, Arshdeep has taken 15 wickets at an economy rate of 7.50. The left-arm bowler is now ranked fourth among players who have taken the most wickets in a single 20-over World Cup, with 15 dismissals.

The all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka was surpassed by Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi, who also set a new record for the most dismissals in a single tournament.

Farooqi is now ranked first in the T20 World Cup 2024 after taking 17 wickets.

Hasaranga is in second place in the 2021–2022 20–over World Cup with 16 wickets. Ajantha Mendis, on the other hand, finished third in the T20 World Cup 2012–2013 with 15 wickets.

The Men in Blue will play South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 championship game on Saturday at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

The Men in Blue will be looking to win their first T20 World Cup since the 2007 tournament in South Africa, as well as break their winless streak without an ICC trophy since the 2013 Champions Trophy.

After putting up an incredible show in the main tournament, South Africa and India are the only teams to remain undefeated in the T20 World Cup of 2024.

The tournament results for both teams have been very different. The team captained by Rohit Sharma has crushed every team they have played in the competition, including formidable opponents like Australia, Pakistan, and England.

On many instances, the Proteas have narrowly avoided elimination while making it to the final. In the group stage, Bangladesh and Nepal gave them a serious competition. They almost completed their elimination in their last Super 8 match against the West Indies, who were the co-hosts, when they chased the amended 123.
