Team India: The final match of the World Cup 2024 is going to be played on 29 June as per Indian time between Team India and South Africa (IND VS SA) on the ground of Barbados. By winning this match, Aiden Markram can help South Africa win their first World Cup title.
Some such equations are being formed before the final match. Looking at them, it seems that if the final match is not completed then the Proteas may have to return to their country empty handed.
It may be difficult for South Africa to win if the match is short
ICC has arranged for a reserve day for the final match between Team India and South Africa (IND VS SA) but despite that if the number of overs in the match is reduced then it may prove to be very difficult for South Africa to win the match.
This is because South Africa has only a few batsmen in their batting line-up who are in form. Due to this, playing consistent shots in a short match can be a tough task for South African batsmen.
The result will be out only after the game is of 10-10 overs
If the final match of the T20 World Cup is played between Team India and South Africa (IND VS SA) and it rains during the match, then at least 10 overs must be played to get a result. Only if this happens, can the final match have any result.
If the final match is cancelled then both the teams will become joint winners
If the T20 World Cup match between Team India and South Africa (IND VS SA) is cancelled due to rain, then ICC will consider both Team India and South Africa as World Cup champions and end the tournament.
Earlier in the Champions Trophy held in 2002, India and Sri Lanka were declared joint winners in a similar way.
