India Women vs South Africa Women: Indian women's cricket team opening batsman Smriti Mandhana scored 16 runs in the 11th over against South Africa at M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai
She created history by scoring a century in the first innings on the first day of the only Test being played in Mumbai. This is the second Test century of Mandhana's career. With this innings, she made many special records.
Mandhana has become the first Indian woman cricketer to score a century in both Test and ODI matches abroad and on home soil. Earlier, she had scored 127 runs against Australia Women's team at Carrara Oval in 2021. Along with this, Mandhana also completed 500 runs in Test cricket and became the ninth Indian to reach this figure.
Apart from this, she has also made the record of scoring the most number of international centuries for the Indian women's team. This is her ninth century in all three formats. In this matter, she left behind former captain Mithali Raj (8).
Mandhana has become the first Indian woman player to score centuries against South Africa in different formats. Before this match, she had scored two centuries in the three-match ODI series against South Africa.
