T. Dilip, the fielding coach for squad India, began by thanking the squad for their victory in a video that was made public by the BCCI. He praised their efforts, saying they were the ideal balance of toughness and poise.

“Every gap was covered like a well-oiled machine, and coordination was flawless,” he said. The squad responded really well to this phrase, cheering on their efforts.

The coach also praised their outfield players for occupying the hotspots, namely Axar Patel, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav.

The last significant danger from the England batting team, Liam Livingstone, was removed with a brilliant run-out by Kuldeep Yadav and Axar. In addition, Suryakumar Yadav contributed with a brilliant run-out to remove Adil Rashid from the game.

As the squad applauded their old teammate, none other than former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik arrived to deliver the prize.

Feeling pleased with the reception he got from his former teammates, Dinesh could not help but feel modest as he thought back on the numerous notable figures who had passed on the fielding medal.

DK continued by complimenting the group on their excellent efforts, which had moved them closer to the top. In addition, he commended Rohit for his side project leadership.

“There are many stories in the sport, but none better than the person I’m going to give this medal to,” DK said before revealing the winner. After all he had to go through a year ago—I don’t believe we could have predicted six months before that he would be on this squad or that he would take up the sport at such a young age—he made millions of people happy when he showed up to play in the Indian Premier League.

The fielding medal winner was declared to be Rishabh Pant in recognition of his exploits against England. When he returned to collect the catch and remove Jos Buttler, his alertness and presence of mind were evident from behind the stumps. Additionally, his stumping of Moeen Ali from much outside the leg-side helped India get an early advantage with the ball.

As they prepare for the pivotal match against Aiden Markram’s undefeated South African squad, which is hungry for a trophy, the Indian team will want to put on one more show.
