What are the Power Blast Overs rules?

The Power Blast Overs rule will be implemented in the upcoming season of Lanka Premier League. Under this rule, every team will get an additional powerplay of two overs in the death overs during the match.

A maximum of 4 fielders can be present outside the 30-yard circle during the 16th and 17th overs of each team's batting. During the powerplay of the first six overs of the match, only 2 fielders are allowed to field outside the 30-yard circle.

According to the statement of LPL, this new feature is designed to make the game more aggressive and exciting. LPL Tournament Director Samantha Dodanvella said in the statement, 'We decided to bring this rule to create more excitement for the league, which is growing year after year.

This new rule will definitely create a lot of excitement among the fans and teams will need to strategize effectively to make the most of this rule.'

It is worth noting that the fifth season of Lanka Premier League will start from July 1. The first match of the tournament is to be played between B-Love Kandy and Dambulla Sixers. At the same time, the tournament will conclude with the final match to be played on July 29.

In LPL 2024, 20 matches will be played between 5 teams in the league stage. After this, there will be three matches in the playoffs and then the final match will be played.

In the league stage, each team will play 2-2 matches against the other four teams. 4 teams will reach the playoffs. This time in the upcoming season, the team of B Candy Love will come out to defend its title.
