The final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played on 29 June. South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the first semi-final match to secure its place in the final. The second semi-final match is to be played between India and England on 27 June. The winning team will face Africa in the final. However, before the final match, the ICC has issued 4 new rules. Let's know what are those 4 new rules?

Arrangement of reserve day in T20 World Cup 2024

  • The final match will be played in Barbados on Saturday 29 June. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a high possibility of rain during the match.
  • However, if the match is not held on June 29 due to rain, then the match will be played on June 30.
ICC has organized the match for the reserve day.

190 minutes buffer time

  • ICC has organized a reserve day for the final. But if the weather remains bad even during the reserve day, then ICC has kept a buffer time of 190 minutes for this.
  • According to the buffer time, if rain interrupts the game even on the reserve day, then the match will have to wait for 3 hours and 10 minutes for the match to start.
After this, the match will be cancelled.

It is mandatory to play 10-10 overs

  • The ICC had made it mandatory to play at least 5-5 overs to decide the result of the league stage and semi-final matches.
  • But for the semi-finals and finals, ICC will conduct a minimum of 10 overs of play. That means even if the match is interrupted by rain, it is mandatory for the match to be of at least 10 overs.

What happens if the final is cancelled?

  • Suppose what will happen if the match is not played on 29th and 30th June due to rain? This question must be bothering you too.
  • In such a situation, let us tell you that if the match is cancelled, the ICC will declare both the teams as joint winners.
