Former pacer Ishant Sharma is backing Team India to lift the ICC T20 World Cup trophy in the West Indies. After winning the global tournament in 2007, the Men in Blue have failed to taste success in the shortest format. India will face England in the second semi-final of the World Cup in the West Indies. The defending champions had thumped the sub-continent team by 10 wickets in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup in 2022.
Jos Buttler and Phil Salt can take away the contest from the Rohit Sharma‘s unit but the presence of Jasprit Bumrah could be a deciding factor.
The Indian speedster didn’t play the last edition due to his back injury. Rohit Sharma hit a blistering 90-plus against Australia in the previous game and his form is a major boost for the team. He will have to face Chris Jordan, who took a hat-trick against the United States of America.
“Arshdeep Singh was brilliant with the ball against Australia. Rohit Sharma played a good innings. He was spot on as a captain. This Indian team is looking strong and hopefully they will lift the trophy,” Ishant Sharma said on Star Sports.
India are looking strong but England can surprise the rivals. They are on a mission to defend their title.
